Hairless Cats:
While hairless cats don't require baths as frequently as their furry counterparts, occasional cleaning is still important! Unlike fur, their skin produces a lot of oil, which can build up and become grimy or greasy without regular attention. The good news: You won't have to worry about mats, hairballs, or excessive shedding! Our Hairless Grooming Service includes:

  • Nail trim
  • Bath
  • Mini-Massage
  • Towel dry
  • Gentle Face, eye & ear cleaning

Lion Cut Service:
This style is ideal for cats that do not groom themselves or have heavy matting throughout the fur. The cut involves shaving most of their fur close to the skin using specialized trimmers, while leaving a moderate mane, lower legs (the boots), and tail. The tail is often left with a "pom" or tuft, however a full tail can be requested. A lion cut may not be suggested depending on your cat's health and personality. Lion cuts may be required in cases of severe matting. This service includes:

  • All of the services in the Basic Groom
    PLUS
  • Main body shave - leaving the fur 1/16-1/4” - to the elbow and hock joints on the front and rear legs. Option for Full or Pouf Tail.

Nala Trim: Similar to the Lion Cut, but with a shorter, blended mane. Option for Full or Pouf Tail.

Bolero Trim:
Unlike the full-body Lion Cut, the Bolero focuses on the rear half of the cat. This is a common trim for cats with arthritic issues. This service includes:

  • All of the services in the Basic Groom
    PLUS
  • Main body shave up to the front shoulders - leaving the fur long at the front of the cat including full mane and front legs. Option for Full or Pouf Tail.

Mats and De-matting:
Mats are often made up of dead hair, skin cells, and other debris that a cat has rubbed against. These can tighten and become painful for cats. They can also be quite unsightly. De-matting will vary depending on the severity and temperament. Once one of our master groomers can evaluate, we can advise the best services to provide comfort and relief to your fur-baby.

Tummy Shave:
Targets the belly area to prevent hairballs and matting, especially for longhaired cats. This includes shaving the area between the rear legs, beneath the tail, and extend up to the armpits of the front legs.

Rear Trim/Sanitary Shave:
Focuses on shaving the area around the rear which helps to maintain cleanliness and prevent matting around the tail base. Sanitary trims can be especially beneficial for cats that are sensitive to brushing or easily matted.

Paw Pad Feather Trim:
Trimming fur around the paws. This service is to help prevent tracking litter and improve paw pad health.

Maintenance Comb Out:
This is a service, extended to return clients only, removes loose fur, prevents matting, and improves coat health. Provided as a maintence service when a bath is not needed, this service includes:

  • Skin and coat analysis
  • Slow, gentle comb-out
  • Nail Trim
  • Ears and eyes cleaned
  • Gentle Face Cleaning

Walk-In Nail Services:
We welcome walk-in services are welcome between 10am-3pm, Tuesday-Friday. Please be sure to bring a copy of your up to date Rabies vaccine if we do not have on file. Walk-in service available are:

  • Nail Trims
  • Soft Paw Application

Overnight accommodations are available, for an additional fee, in case you need to drop your cat off the day before their grooming appointment or to stay overnight after their grooming.

Cat Grooming Policy

We have a few important policies in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all cats in our care. Please take note of the following guidelines:

  1. Carriers Required: All cats must be brought into the facility in a carrier. If you have multiple cats, each cat must be in a separate carrier - NO EXCEPTIONS. This policy is in place to prevent any potential harm that may arise from cats not recognizing each other's scent post-grooming.
  2. Vaccination Requirements: Cats must be current on rabies and distemper vaccinations. There is a mandatory 2-week waiting period prior to grooming to ensure there are no side effects from vaccinations.
  3. Spaying/Neutering: All cats over the age of six months must be spayed or neutered - NO EXCEPTIONS.
  4. Flea Treatment: If evidence of fleas is found, a gentle de-flea procedure will be performed during the grooming session.
  5. Collar Removal: All collars must be removed from cats and can be securely fastened to the handle of their carrier.
  6. Medication Labeling: All medications must be labeled with the cat's name, owner's name, vet's name, instructions, and the purpose of the medication.
  7. Sedative Medication: If your cat is medicated with a sedative prescribed by your vet, please medicate them on an empty stomach right before transport to the Cat Connection. Do not medicate your cat earlier than this. DO NOT GIVE YOUR CAT ANY OVER-THE-COUNTER MEDICATIONS.
  8. Honesty in Reservation: When making a reservation, please be honest about the condition of your cat's coat. We typically book reservations 2-3 weeks in advance.
  9. Photography Consent: By using our services, you agree to let Cat Connection take photos of your cat for promotional, marketing, and educational purposes both in-store and/or online. This applies to cats being boarded and/or groomed by us. Please note that Cat Connection retains the rights to such images.
  10. Emergency Contact: We require a telephone number where the owner can be reached in case of emergency or if additional services are required.

These policies ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all cats in our care and for our extraordinary groomers. Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to providing exceptional service for your beloved kitty companion. We reserve the right to refuse/reschedule any late arrivals. We must be able to evaluate all cats prior to grooming.

Important Health Disclosure:

We want to ensure the health and safety of all cats in our facility. Therefore, we have specific policies regarding certain health conditions:

FIP Positive Cats: We do not accept cats that are FIP (Infectious Peritonitis) positive. FIP is a serious and contagious disease that can pose a risk to other cats in our facility. We prioritize the well-being of all cats in our care and must adhere to this policy to prevent the spread of the disease.

Ringworm Treatment: Cats currently being treated for ringworm cannot be accepted for boarding or grooming. Ringworm is highly contagious, and it's essential that all medication prescribed for ringworm treatment is completed at least 1 week prior to your cat's stay. This ensures that the infection is properly treated and reduces the risk of transmission to other cats or our staff.

FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) or FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) - While we do not accept cats that are FIP positive due to the contagious nature of the disease, we are able to groom cats that are FIV or FeLV positive. If you have a cat with FIV or FeLV and would like to schedule a grooming appointment, please don't hesitate to contact us.

By implementing these policies, we aim to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all cats and humans at the Cat Connection.

Additional Information:

When making your reservation, please be honest about the condition of your cat's coat. We're here to help, but it's important to remember that honest information is only going to help you and your furry friend.

Severely matted cats may require specialized treatment in a veterinary hospital setting, where they can receive proper care and attention from trained professionals. Attempting to groom a severely matted cat in our facility could cause further distress or injury to the cat, as well as pose risks to our staff.

Cats that display extreme aggression may not benefit from our grooming services and may require alternative care options or mild sedation, provided by your vet. Consult with your vet to determine the best course of action for your cat's health and well-being.

Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all the cats in our care, and we will always prioritize their comfort and well-being above all else. Should your cat ever become extremely stressed to the point that we are concerned they may injure themselves or that the stress is at a dangerous level, we will immediately stop the groom. Your cats health and happiness is always our primary concern.

Why Should I Groom my Cat?

Both at home and professionally, regular grooming plays a vital role in maintaining your cat's overall health and well-being. By incorporating combing and brushing into your cat's routine, you can help keep their coat clean and healthy while also stimulating their skin and promoting circulation. Here are some additional benefits of regular grooming:

  • Prevention of Hairballs: Regular grooming helps to remove loose hair from your cat's coat, reducing the amount of hair they ingest during self-grooming. This can help prevent the formation of hairballs, which can be harmful if they accumulate in the cat's stomach.
  • Early Detection of Health Issues: Grooming provides an opportunity to closely inspect your cat's skin and coat for any signs of potential problems, such as areas of hair loss, inflammation, tenderness, or lumps under the skin. Constant scratching or licking in a particular area may also indicate an underlying issue. If you notice any unusual symptoms, it's important to consult with your veterinarian for further evaluation and treatment.
  • Assistance for Senior Cats: As cats age, they may have trouble grooming themselves, particularly if they have medium or long hair. In such cases, it's essential for cat owners to aid with grooming to ensure their cat maintains a clean and healthy coat. Regular grooming can help prevent mats, tangles, and skin issues in senior cats.

By making grooming a regular part of your cat's care routine, you can help keep them comfortable, healthy, and happy throughout their life. If you have any concerns about grooming or notice any changes in your cat's skin or coat, don't hesitate to seek guidance from your veterinarian. Your proactive approach to grooming and monitoring your cat's health can contribute to their overall well-being and longevity. Please note, Cat Connection does not provide veterinary services.

Thank you for considering Cat Connection with the care of your beloved feline companion. We look forward to providing them with a comfortable, enriching, and enjoyable boarding experience and you with the peace of mind that your kitty is well taken care. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
